Synopsis

INTEREST. Some native girls demonstrating Coolie dancing.

The first shot is of a group of native women walking along. Men play on portable drums and dance to the beat of the music. Another man plays the cymbals, then one girl gets up and dances in the middle of the group. Another girl gets up and joins her. They spin and turn together (22). The men with drums then walk round in a circle. The girls dance behind them (38). The two girls dance again (53). Some other girls are seen dancing (61). The girls are then shown dancing in a circle again and some are in close-up (119). One female in close-up wearing ear-rings and beads (120). Another girl is pictured (122). More dancing (129). The girls stand in a row (140). Three more girls demonstrate their native dance (153ft).
