Synopsis

"OUR TROOPS IN INDIA: PARADE OF THE BOMBAY LIGHT HORSE". A column of cavalry march across a field in long lines abreast (30).

"BATTLE OF FLOWERS: CARNIVAL HELD AT BORGHESE, ITALY". Some gaily decorated horse-drawn carts and carriages pass along a road, cheered by crowds; some cars follow with the passengers neing mobbed by crowds (47).

"COLONIALS OF FRANCE: NEW DRAFTS OF AFRICAN TROOPS LEAVING MARSEILLES FOR THE FRONT". A column of cavalry passes along a street, watched by spectators.

"PRESENTATION OF COLOURS: THE NEWFOUNDLAND CONTINGENT IN SCOTLAND RECEIVE NEW COLOURS FROM SIR WILLIAM AND LADY MACGREGOR". Three shots of the presentation ceremony at Stobs camp, Harwich, Roxburghshire (21); there follows a shot of infantry, led by officers on horseback, marching past in long lines abreast (39).

"AMERICA'S NAVY: PRESIDENT WILSON REVIEWS THE FLEET AS IT STEAMS AWAY FOR BATTLE PRACTICE". A tracking shot from the stern of a warship showing others in the distance (16); two shots of unidentified warships taken broadside on as they pass (52).

"MEMORIAL SERVICE HELD AT ST MARY'S, NEWINGTON, FOR FALLEN OFFICER AND MEN OF THE 24TH COUNTY OF LONDON (THE QUEEN'S) WHO HAVE FALLEN FOR THEIR COUNTRY". Two shots of infantry with rifles at the slope arriving at the church and marching round to the doorway; in the second shot the view is very much obscured by the intervening crowds (45).

"ENGINEERS IN TRAINING: BUILDING A 250FT BRIDGE: GIRDERS UP TO 5 TONS IN WEIGHT ARE USED IN THIS WORK". Men carrying and lifting girders into position on the far and near banks of the stream (284ft).
