Synopsis

Prince Henry of Gloucester (en route to take up post of Governor General in Australia?) inspects units of the armed and civil defence services in Ceylon.

there are two inserted sequences, one (start of Reel 1) shows a coastal gun traversing, etc, and troops swimming in the sea; the second (later in Reel 1) shows Prince Henry inspecting units of the Air Force, British and Ceylonese Armies, Navy, Ceylonese RNVR and Allied (US and ? Polish) Navies, Ceylonese ARP workers and Pioneers (?). At some of the parades, he also presents medals. He also pays a visit to a Ceylonese ruler (?). (Fine grain viewing conditions preclude accurate identifications.)
