Synopsis

Film about 'one of the prettiest villages in Malaya', which has become a centre for the curing of leprosy.

The film shows the village in detail; people working on the land; how leprosy can be cured; the early symptoms; the more advanced state; changes since 1948; photographs of one girl who has been cured; the hospital; how the settlement is self-supporting; the important role that the school plays and, finally, one girl leaving the settlement and being welcomed home by her family. The film concludes by indicating that 'science has marched ahead of public opinion'.
