Synopsis

Amateur film shot by Captain Paddy O'Neill of the Indian Medical Service, Indian Army, while attached to the Federated Malay States from November 1934 to January 1938, records scenes in Officers' Mess, battalion entraining for Kuala Lumpur, Palace of Sultan of Selangor and Mosque, an intercut sequence of Chinese tin miners on protest parade in Kuala Lumpur and O'Neill's injured Punjabi troops receiving medical attention for injuries suffered from stone-throwing while maintaining order, their transfer to the Military Hospital Taiping, drill by Malay Regiment, flight in Osprey over Penang, faded colour (magenta) scene of battalion band performing, Pathans dancing, and final sequence shot inside Shwedagon Pagoda in Rangoon, Burma.
