Synopsis

Amateur film by unidentified cameraman, with intertitles, records various cavalry events by the Bombay Light Horse (an Indian Army reserve regiment) on the flat and over fences, including Section Jumping, the Lamba Kan Stakes, tent-pegging (Symons' Challenge Cup), the Musical Ride and the "V.C. Race", watched by Englishmen and their wives under a marquee.

Notes

Provenance: Donor is daughter of Captain C D Taylor, who joined regiment on being sent out to India in 1925, transferring in 1939 to a Baluchistan regiment (Indian Army) stationed at Deolali and taking over command in 1942.
