Synopsis

A traditional Polynesian ceremonial exchange. A party of villagers from the island of Upolu visit the island of Savii to ceremonially exchange food, gifts and speeches. A watch-tower for catching shoals of fish. Harbour scenes at Pago Pago. The harbour at Apia. Celebrations to mark the arrival of a Governor from New Zealand. At Vailima, the Government House, Samoans in traditional bark-cloth dress, present food including a whole roast pig. Beautiful maidens in special skirts dance in the grounds. The grave of Robert Louis Stevenson on the hilltop above Apia.
