Synopsis

British couple working with the Air Ministry Works Department living off base among Greek-Cypriots. Boy Scouts, Girl Guides and Brownies. Fancy Dress; arrival of Father Christmas on a decorated donkey cart. Coastal scenery. Byzantine & Roman ruins, ancient Orthodox churches, crusader castles. Minaret tower. Armed guard on School bus. Troodos Mountians. Quarrying. NAAFI holiday camp in the Troodos mountains, activities day for children; egg & spoon race, sack race and toddlers races; social life of British service and support personal. Durham home visit to parents living in old terraced house. Three generations visit to the cold British seafront, sweet shop full of rock.

Production / Donor Details: Harry and Mary Barron served in Cyprus from 1954 to the early 1960s. Mr Barron worked at the Air Ministry Works Department.
