Cleave Collection 2: Survey of Internationl Frontier betweeen Uganda and Kenya 1959.

Synopsis

A 300' edited record of the demarcation of the border between Uganda and Kenya from late 1959 to March 1960. The 6-month foot safari along the trackless border at the foot of the scarp was supported by camels, donkeys and porters. An adminstrator from each country (L.E. Whitehouse, DC Turkana for Kenya, and Mr Cleave from Uganda) organised the logistics and trace cutting and surveyors from each country did the markers and triangulation.

Production / Donor Details: John Cleave was ADC Karamoja District for 11 years.
