Synopsis

Amateur film of William Butlin in African villages.

William Butlin with African children in a village, handing them food. Young African men. Native African dancing, with different dances performed, including a very fast rhythmic dance performed by men and women (250 ft.). A local African climbs up a palm tree. WB poses with native women with baskets on their heads. Children by the roadside; older women doing weaving. WB with a woman holding a baby at her breast. Women with infants (possibly picking cotton). Tribesmen/cattle farmers drinking Pepsi with WB - WB offers his bottle (536 ft.). Another tribal group, wearing brown robes and multiple necklaces. WB looking at the huts. Women with dark brown gowns and reed bead necklaces and very short hair - ears pierced with very large bead rings. Women jump up and down (686 ft.). Travelling along in a car through corrugated iron shacks, with locals going about their business. A bare breasted woman with a baby looks solemnly at the camera. WB trying to play with the baby. WB with African men carrying what look like clay pipes. WB poses again with the woman and baby for camera. WB poses with two women (both very suspicious and nervous of the situation). African group with cattle and WB posing in front of their huts (882 ft.). Another village - straw huts and more African dancing with the dancers wearing very ornate straw headresses (961 ft.).
