Synopsis

Narrative story of Kasoma, and African boy from the village of Manunga, N. Rhodesia. The story begins in his village and depicts the traditional way of life. Kasoma decides to leave the village to seek work in the new mining towns of the Copper Belt, arriving at the Nkana Mine Compound. Life in the compound is shown. Kasoma meets a boy who has been educated by the local mission, who teaches Kasoma to read. Kasoma finally begins to attend church and is converted to Christianity.
