Synopsis

Hong Kong under the personal supervision of Mr. Norman F.C. Li. Grateful thanks to Mr Wu Chung for meeting the cost of the film the work of the British Red Cross Society Hong Kong Branch on the 100th anniversary of the BRCS and the 12th Anniversary of the HK Branch. Sir Robert Black (patron of HK RC) + Lady Black Scenes of: - shanty towns on hillsides around HK - blood donor service in HK hospitals - donors shown (acc. to BRC archivist these were mainly British and US servicemen) - women volunteers making swaps, caps, and bandages for hospitals; sewing and altering garments for the needy - RC clothing store - victims of fires, typhoons, etc. registering for relief - Grantham Hospital School (childrens' hospital) - teachers and equipment provided by RC. Puppet show for the children

Junior Red Cross members teaching poor children. Training for Jnr members of RC Aberdeen: boat people receiving assistance incl. RC helps in running clinic/floating dispensary HK Club for the Blind - teaching blind woman how to play accordian Princess Alexandra Red Cross hospital - opened 1962 - disabled children at lessons Child suffering from polio with physiotherapist learning to walk with bars. Also older boy & boy in wheelchair receiving treatment. Children playing in playground Mealtime Children's percussion band Children at bedtime, saying prayers Appeal for volunteers, financial support, etc.
