Synopsis

INTEREST. Hunting crocodile on the River Klang, Malaysia.

No main title. MS of a native sitting in a canoe making a float from palm trunks. He secures a hook and rope (rafia) to a dead bird and ties it securely to the float (198). The canoe is paddled out into the river; the float is tied to an overhanging branch and left, the native has been joined by a companion. Later the natives return. They examine the float which bears the teeth marks of the crocodile. They follow the rope, which is attached to the bird inside the crocodile along the river. They haul up the crocodile and shoot it. The crocodile is dragged ashore. Its teeth are shown to the camera (470ft).

Note: German titles.

Note: Another copy is also held in MRS CARLISLE'S BABY REELS (416-443ft). Originally on 9.5mm, the film has been transferred to 16mm. It is a shortened version of the above film at 33ft and shows the native making the float securing it to a tree, hauling the crocodile out, shooting it, and dragging it ashore.
