Synopsis

Scenes in and around Malta during Combined Fleet Exercises, Mediterranean 1955.

Combined Fleet formed up prior to entering Grand Harbour. Harbour entrance and Valletta. Firing the Royal Salute; flypast of Wyverns. HMY Britannia enters the breakwater; Jamaica, followed by Glasgow, approaches breakwater. Harbour, including CUs of crowds. Guard and band at Fort St Angelo. Bridge of Britannia. Duke of Edinburgh's personal standard. Visitors call on C-in-C Med, including Admiral Sir Michael Denny, Mr Trafford Smith (Lieutenant Governor of Malta), First Lord of the Admiralty and First Sea Lord. Duke of Edinburgh inspects Guard and is introduced to Flag Officers.
