Compilation produced by the Royal Navy of various items filmed by Naval cameramen around the world during 1967.

Film opens with an introduction from Lieutenant Richard Baker, latterly a popular broadcaster, who provides a running commentary throughout the film. HMS Resolution, Britain's first Polaris submarine, is shown being accepted into the British Fleet in October 1967. The commentary draws attention to the "spacious" and "comfortable" conditions on board, in comparison to the cramped conditions in the submarines of old. HMS Valiant, the first of the Valiant Class of submarine is seen at sea receiving supplies by air, including letters from home. The Royal Navy's first female air traffic controller, Felicity Taylor, is seen at work at the naval air base HMS Fulmar in Scotland. Shots of Buccaneers landing on runway at HMS Fulmar. The Royal Navy's new base, HMS Neptune, also known as Faslane Naval Base, is opened in Scotland. HMS Renown, one of Britain's Resolution Class submarines is seen at sea. HMS Warspite, Britain's third nuclear submarine is seen entering service in April 1967. The first of the Royal Navy's coastal survey ships, HMS Bulldog is launched in July 1967. HMS Andromeda, a Leander Class frigate ship, and the last ship to be built at HM Dockyard Portmouth, is seen leaving Portsmouth. Officers from the Royal Navy Bomb and Mine Disposal Unit are seen at work deploying a small unexploded bomb on a beach near Plymouth in Devon. HMS Hampshire, a County Class destroyer, visits Expo 67 in Montreal, Canada. Operating off the coast of Gibraltar, Britain's first nuclear powered submarine HMS Dreadnought is tasked with the destruction of the Essberger Chemist, a stricken German ship, a successful mission achieved with assistance from HMS Salisbury. HMS Hermes, the last post-war conventional aircraft carrier to be commissioned into the Royal Navy, is seen visiting Athens in Greece. Shots of Buccaneers on carrier. Naval officers and personnel, including Admiral Sir Michael Le Fanu, are seen participating in the evacuation of British troops and personnel from Aden in November 1967. The last to leave are the Royal Marines of 42 Commando. Film concludes with a request from Baker for Naval personnel to send in material for the following year's edition of "Scran Bag".

Notes

Comments: "Scran bag" is Naval slang for a bag or collection point on a ship for various bits of lost kit. Subsequently, "Scran Bag 67" presumably refers to the variety of items included in the compilation.
