NAVAL SALUTES (RUSHES 3)

Synopsis

I. MLS and MS off port bow of Dido Class light cruiser (HMS Euryalus ?) as she fires a salute.

II. LA approach to starboard bow of HMS Vanguard secured to a buoy in Grand Harbour, Malta. MS, camera tracking to cross port bow.

III. MCU of naval audience at a concert - act (not framed) receives laughter.

IV. MS as motor boat pulls alongside of starboard gangway of Bay Class frigate - officer alights and is met by Officer On Watch. HA.MS as motor boat flying 'Negative' disc, approaches to come alongside camera vessel. MCU as officer is piped aboard ship in Malta harbour. MS as visiting officer is met on ship's gangway (cruiser). Officer is piped off aircraft carrier - he acknowledges, and boards navigator's compartment of Firefly aircraft, whereupon side party moves off and a rating hands him flying gear.

V. MS forward along ship's waist from starboard side of quarterdeck on HMS Newcastle (ship's badge on superstructure in left foreground). Petty Officer and rating approach quarterdeck and salute. MCU of Captain Lister and Commander Keymer on quarterdeck (St Angelo in background), and MS of marines and ratings fell in for entering harbour.

VI. Commandos in training: launching and recovering rubber dinghy and dory in light surf; kedging dory off beach; manning a roadblock; reconnoitring in wooded country.
