13 Oct 1944. Lieutenant General Sir Edmund Schrieber disembarks from the launch at Mjarr in Gozo and is met by the Commissioner Mr Montanarro. They drive away. They walk from the cathedral to the courts. He visits the hospitals of Victoria St Vincent de Paul and St Theresa. The Governor walks around the gardens of Villa Rundle and discusses agriculture with Agricultural Minister. He goes into the Pine Sanctuary. He leaves and goes to the British Institute. He later departs from Mjarr.

11 Dec 1944. Final parade of the Home Guard through villages and an inspection by Brigadier De La Bere. Shots of the parade and march pasts.

25 Dec 1944. The Duke arrives at the Customs House steps in the barge of Vice Admiral Hamilton. He inspects a guard of honour and meets the heads of the services. The Duke and Duchess read the tablets on the wall of Palace Valletta commemorating the visit of the King and President Roosevelt. The Duke meets Father Brincat, parish priest of Senglea and looks at the bomb damage. The royal party are driven around the island.
