Synopsis

The General Officer Commanding the Palestine Base opens a leave camp near Nathanya, Palestine, for troops stationed in Egypt and Palestine.

Brigadier I C Cameron, the 15th Area Commander, meets Major-General McConnell on his arrival. The General inspects the guard of honour of the 1819 East Africa Company with the Officer Commanding the camp, Colonel Wilkinson (of the Inniskilling Dragoons) and Brigadier Cameron. The General walks around to inspect the rear rank. The General talking to staff at the camp including Junior Commander R Kennedy, (Officer Commanding Messing) from Belfast. Panning shot of the General leaving the Sergeants' Mess after morning tea. He inspects the stage of the open air dance floor. On his left is Regimental Sergeant Major Tate from East Yorks and on his right is Colonel Wilkinson. In the background are men of the 1st RAF Dance Band, Middle East. The general addresses the men from the stage. The General and Brigadier Cameron kicking a football. Footballs hitting the target. The General and his party looking out to sea.
