Synopsis

Women of the various services, and from various Empire countries, serving in the Middle East theatre of operations.

WRNS are seen (in summer uniforms) filing, taking shorthand, operating teleprinters, visiting a ship; WAAFs in aircraft identification, maps room; ATS (from South Africa: commentary talks of Voortrekker ancestry) at rollcall, vehicle servicing, and driving ambulance convoy; Queen Alexandra's Imperial Nursing Service (nurses receive stretcher case from ambulance at Field Hospital). Film closes with unspecified woman workers, eg chemical research, control of troop movement, administration of supplies. 'The United Nations can be grateful and proud of the women in the Middle East'.
