Synopsis

Political broadcast. James Callaghan, Chancellor of the Exchequer, looks at the home economic situation and reviews some current affair issues.

Callagahan discusses the economic situation and the changes made and policy pledges. He claims industry is now leaner and fitter and that a mixed economy is the most sensible way forward. On overseas affairs he attacks the apartheid system of Rhodesia. He fully supports the UN (United Nations) but notes the the fact that there is no place for China in the UN. Britain has a duty to help developing coutries with financial aid and other means. In conclusion he outlines the benefits from the Labour Government.
