Synopsis

At Ramree island, on the Arakan coast of Burma, troops of 26th Indian Division make an amphibious landing.

Looking down on landing craft alongside a larger vessel. Long shot pan; various ships and landing craft. Smoke on the horizon. A Black Swan class sloop, HMS Flamingo (pennant number U18). Heading ashore; beach landing craft, men on the beach and sun on the water. Closing on the beach. Landing craft; British troops in bush hats disembarking. Pan horizon with shipping. Looking down on a landing craft with men climbing down to it. On beach; beachmasters set up a loudspeaker. Men of 1st Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment digging on the beach ('X' on their bush hats). Beach part erecting a sign 'F'. Beach with wire track being laid. A war correspondent, possibly named Atkinson, sitting on the beach and working on a typewriter. Wireless operator. Indian troops, probably of 1st Battalion 18th Royal Garhwal Rifles, on the beach; they march inland. Sikh pioneers lay wire track with close-up showing how the track is secured. Group of British troops pushing something on wheels (a trailer?) under a tarpaulin. DUKW amphibian drives up the beach with British troops with helmets and floatation aids following behind. Men stepping down from landing craft. Landing Craft Mechanised (LCM) beaching after being guided by a beachmaster with flag. Landing Craft Assault 2050 landing with men disembarking. [See note below] Long shots of two large vessels of the invasion force. Men at a rail with a row of davits. Assault ship with LCMs. LCM passing close by. Troops of the Lincolns. Notes

At 574 feet a slate is seen identifying Captain Hogg as cameraman. This presumably belongs with FUB 71.
