Synopsis

I. "AIRBORNE BEAT CHAIRBORNE IN RUGBY AT DELHI" Rugby match scenes in Delhi between the Paratroopers Rugby team and the 'Chairborne' side in the presence of Their Excellencies Viceroy and Vicereine Wavell.

II. "THE NEWS IN BRIEF" Sir J P Srivastava, the Food Member, arrives at a Conference to set the key note that "India must be encouraged to grow more to eat, and eat more wisely". Sir Henry Twynham inspects Nagpur's police and G W Benton receives the Police Medal along with a colleague. The Governor of Bombay is welcomed to the new Royal Indian Navy shore base HMS Shivaji by Admiral Godfrey to view "another part of India that's got to be guarded...her lengthy coastline". Scenes of training at HMS Shivaji, followed by the Allied Airmen club, built with help of Sir Ness Wadia, being visited by American Officers and the Governor of Bombay. Also present is General King, personal representative of Churchill.

III. "RETAKING BURMA" Commentary states, "From Tokyo to the Irrawaddy, the Japanese are getting just what they asked for" as film depicts Indian troops crossing the Irrawaddy River in Burma, using a ford. Troops rest behind a pagoda while twenty-five pound guns prepare to fire upon the Japanese. Scenes of Indian troops entering a liberated Burmese village.

IV. "JUMBO MAJUMDAR'S LAST JOURNEY" Funeral scenes of Indian Air Force pilot, Wing Commander Karun Krishna Majumdar, "ranked as one of the twelve best pilots in the world" takes place with the Archdeacon and Chaplain of Lahore leading the procession. Among the mourners is the Premier, the Honourable Kizar Hyat Khan. The Last Post is sounded and wreaths are laid for "a famous son" of India.
