Synopsis

I. "H.E. THE VICEROY RETURNS FROM ENGLAND". Lord Wavell returns to India. II. "INDIAN PRISONERS OF WAR WELCOMED HOME". In Bombay, the Governer, Sir John Colville, greets repatriated prisoners of war. III. "DEPARTURES AND ARRIVALS". Sir Homi Mehta leaves for England on a mission to ensure that Indian soldiers get the same comforts as those of other Allied nations. Sir Firoz Khan Noon returns from a conference in San Francisco where he reminded the world of India's contribution to the war. IV. "RECONSTRUCTION IN LIBERATED BURMA". To facilitate transport around the country, Indian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers are helping to repair the railways and construct boats. Telephones and telegraphs lines have also been restored.
