This film is held by the Imperial War Museum (ID: INR 99).

Synopsis

I. "PUBLICISTS RESPONSIBLE FOR INDIA'S FAITH AND CONFIDENCE" Mr Bozman holds meeting of the Publicity Advisory Committee as " a simple guide to what to say in wartime". Commentary also notes that "there is always someone to believe a liar provided he tells big enough lies...Get down to the facts was his advice". Mr Bokhari illustrates how reports from Eastern Front will reach homes through All India Radio's new Field Recording Unit. "These men are the eyes and ears of the public. Theirs is the responsibility to hear no evil, speak no evil, think no evil."

II. "LAHORE S.P.C.A. HOLDS ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL SHOW" Governor admires bull-led tongas at a show for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) and speaks to the owner of the champion tonga. A camel race follows as "one camel behaves like a lady driver meeting her first traffic policeman". Trophies are finally awarded to the owners.

III. "PRIZE BONDS PAY BIG DIVIDENDS" Sir Cowasji Jehangir demonstrates "the easiest way to make money that's yet been invented". Tokens for prize bonds are placed into barrels. Commentary notes that "Mr Trevor gives service with a smile".

IV. "AKYAB RETAKEN" Scenes of preparation for combined assault operation on Japanese-defended beach at Akyab. Troops at embarkation port with landing equipment are part of a joint naval and land operation. Commentary notes that "it's as though Wellington had manoeuvred his men for Waterloo in the seas off Trafalgar". A bomber takes off to attack Japanese positions as "somewhere a Japanese General tears up a plan, a front line sector radios back in vain for ammunition". Men in landing craft check equipment before advancing onshore. "It's a walkover" states commentary as arms and ammunition arrive on light carriages. Wing Commander Bradley, Akyab's peacetime Advocate General, flies round Akyab to judge situation and witnesses the deserted town. People greet Bradley as his Allied plane lands.
