Synopsis

A television recording of the State Opening of Parliament in 1970.

The recording shows the Queen's arrival, the summoning of the House of Commons and the Queen's speech mentioning, among other things, the EEC, Rhodesia, Northern Ireland, Commonwealth immigration legislation, commercial radio, the Boundary Commission and the economy.
