In northern Burma, an American cameraman films 1st Battalion Royal Scots Fusiliers' entry into Pinwe on St Andrew's Day, 30 November 1944.

A shirtless British soldier, with slung rifle and hat bearing the badge of 36th Division, stands at a railway sign for Pinwe. British troops advancing through wreckage at Pinwe station. Troops moving on with a piper playing (an American photographer is seen briefly). Feet trudging along the railway line. Troops walking along a road through trees; some of the troops are Vickers machine gunners. Piper passing. Closer shot of troops passing. Brief very close shot of a British soldier. File of troops cross a log of a broken bridge. Troops improving the bridge. Shot looking up through the bridge as troops cross (the troops are apparently waiting on the cameraman). For other footage relating to operations at or near Pinwe, see related items.

Series note: The MWY series of films is believed to be part of a ‘pool’ of film received by the Government of India from various sources, including South East Asia Command, the Indian Inter-Service Public Relations Directorate, the Ministry of Information, and from Allied governments. This footage would have been considered for editing and release through the Indian Newsreel Parade; see INR series.
