Synopsis

Troops of 25th Indian Division make an amphibious landing at Kyaukpyu on Ramree Island, in the Arakan coastal region of Burma.

Panning shot invasion fleet at sea. Looking towards sun on horizon. Pan various ships. Landing ships and landing craft. Troops climbing down nets to landing craft. Landing craft heading ashore in bright sunshine. View from a rocking landing craft looking towards a large warship in the distance (a cruiser?) firing its guns; a large muzzle flash and gunsmoke are seen. Onboard a landing craft; the men seem in high spirits. Another landing craft heading ashore. Aircraft overhead. Smoke or dust on the island in the distance. Thick pall of smoke in the distance. Closing with the shore. Other landing craft. Men running up the beach. Pan of men marching on the beach. Beachmasters sign F with tracked Buffalo amphibian. Gear on the beach with landing craft beaching in the background; a bowser drives off. Landing craft A1 lands with support ships in the background. Men hurry ashore.
