Synopsis

RAMC training film made at 33 General Hospital, Hong Kong, in 1956.

This silent RAMC training film demonstrates the IPPR system for managing bulbar palsy which is a great advance over conventional 'Iron lung' methods. The apparatus which is an REME adaptation of the Beaver respirator is explained in detail. The six stages in the establishment of IPPR are explained with film of an operation in progress.
