Synopsis

I. "Jap convoy annihilated." Map of the Bismarck Sea area introduces report on the Allied destruction of a Japanese invasion force at sea off New Guinea. Reconnaissance film taken in March revealed the presence off Rabaul of a large number of ships, 22 of which were later destroyed during Allied attacks. RAAF and USAAF aircraft are seen taking off and attacking with bombs, cannon and machine-gun fire enemy vessels which catch fire. Plane dives low to attack a small landing-craft.

II. "Tunisian victors." Victory in North Africa means that shipping need no longer sail round the Cape of Good Hope to reach the Middle East. Remainder of item pays tribute to the victors: Montgomery, Anderson, Alexander, Eisenhower, Tedder, Cunningham as well as the 'Free French' (Generals Monsabert and Leclerc), and the RAF.
