Synopsis

I. "Pacific war news." a. Matilda tanks precede Australian infantry advancing through the jungle in New Guinea at the time of the capture of Sattelberg. b. Elsewhere on the island a planeload of Australian girls arrive to entertain US forces at their base; girls dance, kicking their legs in the air. c. USN fighters successfully engage Japanese planes over the Pacific, camera-gun film recording the shooting-down of several fighters (unidentified). d. USN fleet in the Pacific repulses air attack.

II. "Orsogna blitzed." Ground level coverage of the bombing of Orsogna. Allied planes intercept German fighters over the town; one Spitfire dives earthwards, the pilot having baled out.

III. "Two thousand tons." Aerial film of the RAF raid on Magdeburg, reported to have received 2000 tons of bombs in 34 minutes.
