Synopsis

I. "Queen with NFS girls." The Queen, with Princess Elizabeth, is received by Herbert Morrison as she arrives to watch a parade in London by women of the National Fire Service, who afterwards demonstrate their fitness in an outdoor display.

II. "GIs to shift London's ruins." Some of the US soldiers placed at London's disposal by Eisenhower are seen at work clearing rubble, laying the foundations for new houses and being visited by Duncan Sandys.

III. "Boche factory in Paris tube." Workers clear out a section of the metro in Paris which was converted by the Germans into an underground aircraft factory. Concrete covering the rails is removed; machines stand idle.

IV. "Brussels demonstrators." A crowded indoor meeting and people carrying placards in the streets ("More food", "Communist Party", "Down with Pierlot") suggest the "difficult period" through which Belgian politics are passing.

V. "Supplying the Burma Front by air." RAF Dakotas drop supplies to the 5th Indian Division before the capture of Tiddim.

VI. "RAF hammers the Reich." Aerial film of the raid on the night of 4 December on Heilbronn. Markers, high explosives and incendiary bombs create a massive blaze.
