Synopsis

I. BERLIN: airlift flies in fuel oils. Film of a British Zone airfield with adapted Lancastrians (and a Tudor 2) being loaded; Lancastrian takes off, lands at Gatow, fuel unloaded and distributed by pipeline, barge and tanker.

II. South Seas tour of inspection. Sir Bernard Freyberg, Governor General of New Zealand, on official tour of islands of W. Samoa; local feast, Polynesian dancing etc (including a fine 'Canoe Dance' on Tutuila).

III. Undefeated world heavyweight boxing champion Joe Louis 'hangs up his gloves': a brief film resum of the "Brown Bomber's" career.

IV. "Streiflichter aus Deutschland." a. Orphaned refugee children leave Hamburg airfield for 'new life' with adoptive families in USA (arriving in ambulances, boarding plane). b. Divining rod experiments. c. Animal protection society rounds up stray dogs, and boards them in kennels.

V. Egypt. "Reconstruction after 4000 years." Archaeologists and labourers rebuilding ancient ruined temples at Karnak (Thebes); also film of students gaining 'practical' experience at opening of a pyramid.

VI. Ice hockey: good film of a match between Boston and Fssen.
