Synopsis

TRAVELOGUE. Jaipur is the "Pink City" and the capital of Rajasthan in India. This travelogue shows the State Parade including armoured elephants and the State Coach; craftsmen at work producing hammered brass trays and ornamental pieces, coloured glass inlay, lacquered and jewelled chess pieces; the Maharajah's Palace and its gardens and fountains; the daily Changing of the Guard; a polo match between the Maharajah's of Jaipur and the Gwaliah (sic); a mountain temple, its Holy Men and the monkeys which proliferate in the area; the city of Amber which was once the state capital but was abandoned in 1728 and is now only the deserted palace of Amber.
