Synopsis

Amateur footage of William Butlin on holiday in Africa on a riverboat safari.

Shot of William Butlin with an 8mm (?) camera filming bush vegetation/flowers (37 ft). A European car being loaded onto a river ferry/raft. WB chatting to a white European man. Shots of birdlife on the fiver, including birds of prey and wading birds. Camera pans along the river bank. More shots of WB filming, standing next to the riverboat captain (135 ft.). Close-up of a family of elephants on the riverbank (160 ft.). (166 ft.) Hippos in the water (194 ft.). Shots of general wildlife including birds and antelopes (203 ft.). Crocodiles on the banks, a large lizard, elephants, monkeys and baboons. WB on the riverbank filming crocodiles. More hippos and crocodiles (419 ft.). WB amongst young native women. The women do a dance whilst men play wooden recorders (510 ft.). Men in native head dress with spears and animal skin shields enact a war dance. The women continue with their dance at the same time.
